This past July Fourth, Josh and I went up to Lake George where we rented a lake house with some friends and spent the weekend eating amazing meals. One of our friends made this galette from Smitten Kitchen, and I thought it was so good, that I had to take a stab at it on my own.
We're getting a lot of berries in the CSA now (a whole quart of blueberries last week!) and berries are on sale at just about every grocery store. Not to mention there are a lot of awesome farm stands and pick-your-own blueberry places that you can head over to as well. Berries are an awesome source of antioxidants, vitamin C and fiber and the fresher they are, the better.
I decided to go with strawberries and blueberries, but the Smitten Kitchen recipe uses cherries and raspberries in one galette and blueberries in another, so feel free to go with whatever you want or have on hand. This is super easy and the perfect summer dessert so I highly recommend making this soon while the berries are still in season!
